I’m Mélodie, a passionate Lolita who loves frilly dresses, elegant coords, and everything cute! I created this blog to share my love for Lolita fashion, help beginners, and connect with fellow Lolitas! ✨

Lolita fashion is my biggest passion, and I wanted to create a cozy space to share my love for Lolita fashion! I’ve learned so much from the Lolita community, and now I want to contribute by sharing my own experiences, tips, and inspirations! 🌸

🍬 When did you start wearing Lolita?

I discovered Lolita fashion in January 2024, and it was love at first sight! I’ve always loved alternative fashion, but when I found Lolita, it felt like I had truly found myself. It’s more than just clothing, it’s a dream come true! 🌟

📖 How did you learn about Lolita fashion?

I first saw Gothic Lolita and got super curious! I started researching everything about it! Its history, rules, brands, and community. I read blogs, watched videos, and followed Lolita forums. The more I learned, the more I fell in love with it! 💞

💖 What is Lolita fashion?

Lolita fashion is a beautiful and cute Japanese street fashion inspired by Victorian and Rococo fashion. It focuses on modesty, elegance, detailed outfits and coordination. Petticoats for the iconic shape/silhouette, lace elements, detailed prints and pretty blouses full of frills make this fashion truly unique! There are many many substyles, but the main threes are Sweet, Gothic, and Classic Lolita! 🎀

💎 How can I start wearing Lolita?

Start by researching the fashion, learning the basics (petticoats, silhouette, brands), and finding a style you love! I have a beginner’s guide on my blog to help you get started! 💖

A petticoat is essential for achieving the iconic Lolita silhouette! There are casual ways to wear Lolita, but a petticoat truly brings the outfit to life 🌟

💸 Is Lolita fashion expensive?

It can be, but there are ways to find affordable pieces! Buying secondhand, looking for indie brands, and shopping during sales can help make Lolita more budget-friendly! ✨

💡 What advice would you give to beginners in Lolita?

🧸 Do you wear Lolita every day?

I mostly wear Lolita for special events, photoshoots, and music videos 📸 I live in a small town where there aren’t many alternative people, so I feel a little shy about wearing Lolita in public. But I hope to feel comfortable wearing it daily in the future! 💖

🍰 Do you wear only Gothic and Sweet Lolita?

Yes! I love both styles equally, and I switch between them depending on my mood! 🎀

🧸 What are your favorite Lolita prints or themes?

I am obsessed with food-themed prints! 🍓🍩🍰 If a dress has cakes, chocolates, fruits, or sweets on it, I instantly want to buy it! I just can’t resist a cute dessert-covered piece! 🍨

🎨 What colors do you wear the most in Lolita?

For Gothic Lolita, I wear black and navy 🖤💙

For Sweet Lolita, my absolute favorite color is pink! 🌸🎀 I put pink everywhere! 🌟

🌸 Where do you buy your dresses and accessories?

I shop at Atelier Pierrot, Vallée Lys, MeLikesTea, Undead Magpie, and Night Whisper for dresses. For jewelry, I love Magical Kawaiiland. I buy wigs from Arda Wigs and Epic Cosplay, and I get accessories from Peacockalorum and RosieEmilie 🍡

🎶 Do you have any other special interests apart from Lolita?

Yes! I love music! Especially metal. I play guitar and I sing. Even though this blog is focused on Lolita fashion, music is a huge part of my life. I also enjoy drawing and video editing! 💖

My photos are my own, so please don’t use them without permission. If you’d like to share something, please ask me first! 💌

🌎 Do you go to Lolita meetups?

I haven’t attended any yet, but I’d love to in the future! 🍦

🧵 Do you sew your own Lolita dresses?

No, I prefer to buy from brands and independent designers because I don’t know how to sew (I know the basics but that’s not enough to make a dress)! 🍪

🏠 Do you wear Lolita at home?

Yes! Even if I don’t wear it outside every day, I still love dressing up at home 🍵

🍰 Do you like other kawaii fashion styles?

Lolita is my true love, but I also admire other cute and colourful styles like fairy kei and decora! 🍩

✨ Do you prefer simple or OTT (over-the-top) coords?

I love both! Sometimes I enjoy elegant, simple coords, and other times I want extravagant, ultra-kawaii OTT looks with tons of accessories! It depends on the occasion! 🎠

💬 Do you participate in online Lolita communities?

Yes! I love reading Lolita blogs, watching videos, and following discussions on Lolita forums and subreddits! 🖥️🎀

📷 How do you take your coord photos?

I do everything by myself! From preparing my coord, setting up my camera, tripod, and lighting, to preparing my background. Then, I take a LOT of photos! 📸

Once the shoot is done, I carefully go through all the pictures and only keep the best ones! After that, I edit them with color correction, color grading, and sometimes magical special effects like sparkles or fairy wings! ✨

I don’t have a strict schedule, but I try to post regularly! 🧋
